Freshly grilled fish is one of the greatest tasting meals that exist. In Essaouira it is as fresh and simple as it gets - and you get used to the flies.
Ah, the famous Essaouira harbour barbecue! I watched the fishing boats coming in with fresh fish and shellfish. When they land, the barbecue stalls that line the outside of the harbour gets a choice pick. You then choose what you would like - I chose sea-bass, squid, butterfly shrimps (still kicking about) and some fresh sardines. It is then served with a tangy tomato salad and some crispy chobs (Moroccan bread).
